Project Outcome in Practice: Using Outcome Data to Measure and Improve Impact

The Public Library Association’s Project Outcome is a free online toolkit that provides patron outcome surveys, tools for collecting and analyzing outcome data, and practical guidance on using the results to take action. Learn how easy it is to measure and utilize the outcomes of your library’s programs and services from experienced project participants who have been able to use Project Outcome to measure and improve their impact to better tell their library’s story.
At the end of this session, participants will:
1: Know what Project Outcome measures and the tools and resources available 2: Understand how to take action using outcome data 3: Be able to implement best practices and lessons learned from participating libraries

Brent Bloechle, Library Manager, Maribelle M. Davis Library
Plano Public Library
Brent Bloechle has been with the Plano Public Library System for thirteen years. He has been the manager of the Maribelle M. Davis Library for eight years. At PPL, his additional areas of responsibility are new library technology, staff development, PLA Project Outcome, and Edge. He previously has spoken at the Public Library Association Conference, Internet Librarian, the Texas Library Association Conference and he is a contributing author to Creative Library Marketing and Publicity.
Carrie Herrmann, Director
Boone County Public Library
Carrie Herrmann has 30 years of experience in libraries, most of those in Northern Kentucky. She has served on the Executive Board for the SWON Libraries consortium, served as the editor for the Kentucky Public Library Association?s (KPLA) newsletter, IN-FO-CUS, and on the Continuing Education Committee for the national Public Library Association. Currently, Carrie is focused on a building project for Boone County Public Library.
Greta Southard, Director
Allen County Public Library , Fort Wayne , IN
Prior to joining ACPL, Greta served as the director of the Boone County Public Library (KY). Prior to that she served as the Executive Director of the Public Library Association for 13 years. Prior to joining PLA, she worked for Mead Data Central (Lexis Nexis) as an account representative working with law schools and law firms. She began her information career as a law librarian in Ohio.
