Operationalizing Your Strategic Plan
Friday, March 23, 2018, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Pennsylvania Convention Center, 113 ABC
Strategic plans are great! Well, they’re great for the library board, great for the website, great for next year’s strategic plan review… but are strategic plans great for staff? Staff want to know their work is connected to something bigger; however, we struggle to keep the plan in the forefront of the day to day operational work we do. Learn how using the lean planning approach of Hoshin planning can integrate your strategy with operations.
An online version of this concurrent program session was also presented during the PLA 2018 Virtual Conference.
At the end of this session, participants will:
1: Gain a template to use to operationalize your strategic plan
2: Understand the concept of Hoshin planning
3: Improve staff engagement in work
The session organizer(s) identified this session as appropriate for:
Level 1: People with no previous knowledge of the topic.
This session will have: Medium interaction (example: single speaker/panel with questions or discussion throughout)
