Applying an Equity Lens: Shifting Resources to Reach Low Income Audiences
Thursday, March 22, 2018, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Pennsylvania Convention Center, 108 AB
The Seattle Public Library has begun conducting equity analyses of programs and services to eliminate racial disparities.? In examining our mobile services, summer programs, and other youth programs, we found a failure to reach children with the greatest barriers to access and responded with several major resource allocation shifts. This session examines these case studies and the equity frameworks we used for each.
At the end of this session, participants will:
1: Learn strategies for assessing programs and services from an equity standpoint 2: Gain insights into one system's approach to making major resource allocation changes to achieve equity goals 3: Learn how to plan change management when navigating political minefields
The session organizer(s) identified this session as appropriate for:
Level 2: People with some knowledge, who want to increase their understanding.
