Library Digital Literacy Training: Bringing Community Partners Together

Thursday, March 22, 2018, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Pennsylvania Convention Center, 113 ABC

You know your efforts to teach computer skills will help community members get jobs, increase their own education and help their children learn, be more productive, and participate in their communities. But do your partners know? Hear how diverse libraries used their digital literacy training efforts to bring together partners in employment, education, housing, and more. Making training accessible, focusing on specific skills and populations, and showing outcomes have been critical.

At the end of this session, participants will:

1: Implement new digital literacy training strategies that expand access to content and to impact data 2: Enlist government, education, employment and private industry partners to support their digital literacy training 3: Leverage local resources that help develop, market and present live and online computer and internet training programs

The session organizer(s) identified this session as appropriate for:
Level 2: People with some knowledge, who want to increase their understanding.

This session will have: Medium interaction (example: single speaker/panel with questions or discussion throughout)
